Some of you may know but many of you probably dont... I am headed to New York Presbyterian Wednesday morning for another surgery... It turns out that I have a trapped 4th ventricle in my brain which is causing fluid to build up and cause extreme dizziness and problems with my balance...My shunt is working quite nicely at draining the other three ventricles but scar tissue and damage from the meningitis is causing a blockage ... They are going to clean out the scar tissue and insert another permanent shunt to drain the ventricle ... I have a wonderful new neurosurgeon , Dr. Jeffrey Greenfield, who will be performing the procedure and I have complete confidence in him.... I am thankful for my past neurosurgeons who kept me alive, even though I faced just about every complication imaginable , but for over two years I really have not been living.... Dont get me wrong, I am very thankful to be here but I know that this surgery is going to give me back my life....I am very anxious to have this operation... I am hoping that I will even be able to get a real job again... I feel like the possibilities are endless and I cant wait to really take advantage of my second chance at life...
