Some old photos of work done by Tichafa Makovere (who will be teaching this course in Kilifi) in Ethiopia at Strawberry Fields during a visit in 2011 where he was not only running Permaculture Design Courses, but establishing permaculture gardens on school compounds. As a result, most kids of whom 95% end up becoming farmers, learnt, with their parents, not only how to farm sustainably, but how to build increasingly productive, increasingly rich soils, year after year. The opposite of todays popular soil-depleting monocropping. The harvest was used to feed school kids and their famileis and all excess was sold to the local market - with this income, the schools did not need to rely on foreign aid anymore, they became self-sufficient! How much more wholesome can a project be?
