Some parliamentary candidates who lost in the BDP primaries over the weekend have rejected the results and say they intend to file protests. The ruling party conducted the elections in all constituencies in the southern part of the country, and candidates say they were too marred by gross irregularities. In Mochudi West, Tosh Kgotlele, who lost to Unity Dow, said he would protest the results owing to irregularities. The former football administrator garnered 1236 votes in the election while Dow was voted by 1423 people. Kgotlele told a packed hall that election procedures were not followed and that there were ghost voters in areas such as Kgomodiatshaba. On the other hand, Unity Dow urged BDP members in the constituency to work together to wrestle the constituency from the opposition party.
