Some people are focused on results while others are activity oriented. Doing a bunch of busy work that doesn’t have much to do with your end goal is not important. It is just that – busy work. It keeps you busy but it doesn’t move you toward success – your ultimate goal. Therefore, rather than being activity oriented, it is important to focus on the actual outcomes – your results! So how can you become more result-oriented? First of all, it is crucial to know what you want as a result. Do you want to make a certain income per year? Do you want to buy a certain car? Do you want to have more time to spend with your family? You get the idea – you need to ask yourself what you want – what is your goal? The more precise you can be about your goal the better. For example, don’t just write down I want to make more money. Be more precise: I want to make 15% more this year as compared to last year. Not good: I want a new car. Again, not very precise. Better: I want a 2015 Escalade in Majestic Plum Metallic. Not good: I want to spend more time with my family. Better: I want to spend an additional hour with my family every night.
