Some people genuinely disgust me- A woman in the Buy Nothing Pierce County group posted that she needed assistance with housing and her pregnancy. Instead of offering help, dozens of accomplished individuals came on the post, belittling her, calling her white trash, and suggesting adoption (Because low-income women should never DARE to parent, right?!) Needless to say, I took her on as a pro bono client at Burning Bra Birth Services without hesitation. Not to mention, a woman, who is a SOCIAL WORKER at Franciscan Health, didnt hesitate to belittle her. I didnt hesitate to screenshot her comments and forward them to Franciscan Health! If she loses her job, I have no sympathy- Women like her make it extremely difficult for women in need to trust social workers! Besides, she spent three posts bragging about her home and accomplishments, so her accomplished, white privileged ass shouldnt have any trouble finding another job! Plus, I dealt with numerous racist comments and microaggressions geared towards me, but that is nothing new- as long as I can help those I need!
