Some people have asked me what my beef is with Matt Harrington, the Exec Dir of Chicago Progressive Candidates 2015. I was intrigued when I first saw the call to arms indicating the forming of a city wide slate of 50 aldermanic candidates and one candidate for mayor. Then I was appalled by the horrible candidates statement the organization put out! Their board of directors includes Tio Hardiman and William Dock Walls, (both of whom have run, while not winning, at least credible campaigns in the past) Chris Kennedy and Matt. When I contacted Matt and suggested that they needed an editor, he told me I find you insulating, dont contact us again. Since then hes powered on, producing ads on FB for Dock Walls--who wisely distances himself from the group--that are homages to Harold Washington with Walls info tacked on. What I really find curious is Chris Kennedys involvement. Does he owe Rahm a favor after Rahm gave his support --and $30 million in TIF funds-- to Kennedys Wolf Point Development? (Youd think after getting $624 million from the sale of the Merchandise Mart he wouldnt need our money.)
