Some people have to understand and not be confused about the reason why some of the minor old testament rules dont necessarily or strictly apply to these days, because for one reason,we are in a different culture and so God knows that.in ancient Hebrew times when Exodus and leviticus was written,it was a different time dispensation, when The Lord had forbidden those certain foods and such as other things for example described in (parts of the Torah (Leviticus 19:19 and Deuteronomy 22:9–11) prohibit an individual from wearing wool and linen fabrics in one garment, the interbreeding of different species of animals, and the planting together of different kinds of seeds (collectively known as kilayim). These rules were necessary To create a conscientiousness,a mind set of new societal habits, of basically forming a seperate customs identity in order to help the Hebrews be seperate from the pagan peoples who ate all those things and did certain other customs. The Hebrews gradually became their own culture identity, and finally, when The Lord Jesus brought our new time dispensation with this Age of Grace, many of those old things became outdated and no longer forbidden.I still think they may still have a practical value for health reasons, where as pork is a fatty meat and shrimp and crab, and shellfish can sometimes make people feel ill ,and so i think we should still moderate these certain foods. Here is where God began to allow the eating of these foods, just as they had once been allowed in Noahs time as He began changing the rules,Acts 11:4-94: Starting from the beginning, Peter told them the whole story: 5“I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision. I saw something like a large sheet being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came down to where I was. 6I looked into it and saw four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, reptiles and birds. 7Then I heard a voice telling me, ‘Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.’ 8“I replied, ‘Surely not, Lord! Nothing impure or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’ 9“The voice spoke from heaven a second time, ‘Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.’ 1 Timothy 4:1-5 just as there was a different dispensation of rules in exodus times,so also was a different freer time in the days of Noah. as is now in this Age of Grace And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth. The fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth and upon every bird of the heavens, upon everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea. Into your hand they are delivered. Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything. But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood. And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: from every beast I will require it and from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man. Genesis 9:1-5. Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer.1 Timothy 4:1-5. Those Who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer.1 Timothy 4:3-5 Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ. Colossians 2:16-17 By canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross Colossians 2:14.
