Some people in this world produce a luminent light akin the beaming rays of the sun, it filters in through earthy water spirits like me and warms us right to the core. The world needs more bright and shiny people. Thanks to my dear boys Sam and Nathan, I am once again flying through dream clouds with flamingos and soaring with the eagles. Their light has reignited my flame, and suddenly I dont feel quite as alone as I have since returning from Africa. Suddenly I feel like maybe I have people - my people - here as well. I feel like I have the strength of a matriarch elephant, the grace of an old giraffe wandering the savanna, the joy of the leaping impala, the playfulness of a vervet monkey, the conviction of shumbwa - lion - and the mischief of kabwenga - hyena. Life is not black and white, and if it were Id be a zebra! But things are tough for zebras too. He has to move around and search far to find what he needs, he has to cross the river full of crocodiles and follow his nose to the rewards he seeks. Zebra is antisocial, grumpy and stubborn...like me. But that doesnt stop him from frolicking in the grass when the rains finally come. Thanks guys, for digging me out of that hole last night and reminding me why the best things in life are worth facing risks and taking a bit of a chance for. And for just being generally awesome, a true blessing that has gently, gently pushed its way into my life right when I needed it most. My number one drum-diamonders! Im taking you both with me to Africa, you dont get a say in the matter, its done. Much love to you both. :-)
