Some people might call what Williams did selfish or wrong. But until you have actually had to deal with depression yourself, I say stfu. I have read many posts where those that just LOVE to complain have made knee jerk comments about him having no reason to be depressed because he had it all (referring to money) or even compared him to the many veterans that have committed suicide, saying its a disgrace that depression is only NOW getting recognition because a celebrity has done it. I hate to break it to you, but it has gotten a lot of attention by those that actually take it seriously. Most of you that have compared the two, are the very same people that I have personally seen belittle or dissmiss this mental illness by calling those that suffer cowards or shaming people for not being strong. Robin Williams was a decent and caring individual that gave so much of himself to so many others. I believe his heart couldnt handle all of the darkness in the world and in the end, it defeated him. In my opinion, too many people lack empathy. And as backward as it is, those that dont, typically feel too much, but cannot make the pain disappear, while those that do lack it- just dont give a shit and only add to the problem. My 2¢.
