Some people pride themselves on buying humane or free range meat, as if it somehow makes a difference. Whats interesting is that if you look at it from an outside perspective, the animals who get tortured their whole lives before slaughter, those animals are basically in a constant PTSD state; they are emotionally detached from their bodies and the pain. So when they get killed, they are so used to detaching from their bodies from the pain with all theyve been through that the pain they feel in death is just another reason to disappear into their heads, and disassociate from the pain. Their death is a release for them. No more suffering, no more pain. Humane/ Free Range animals, while not tortured (as much) as regular factory farmed animals, and allowed the freedom to breathe in fresh air, feel the sunlight, and connect with the planet, have it a little worse when it comes to death itself. They dont have that built up ability to detach from pain like regular animals do from their PTSD. No, when humane animals go to slaughter, they are the ones who will struggle and scream and kick and fight until their last breathe, even more so than the normal farmed animals do. They have lived a better life, and they are attached to this reality, and dont want to leave it. They cling to it like any one of us would if we were forced to die right now having lived a life of freedoms.So tell me...exactly WHAT is humane about that?
