Some people think going into business for ones self makes life - TopicsExpress

Some people think going into business for ones self makes life easier. In some cases it makes life harder. My life is easier. I am not even going to lie. It is much easier now than when I had to punch a clock. But I enjoy this and I am good at what I do. However, it is not to say that life is a cake walk. During peak periods, which are generally March to August and October to December, it is not uncommon for me to put in 50 - 60 hours per week. On any given weekday I wake up at between 4:00 am to 5:00 am and my day often does not stop until 7:00 or 8:00 pm, sometimes later. Even on Sundays I am up at 6:00 or 6:30 am. I was up at 5:30 am this past Sunday. During peak periods it is not uncommon for me to work while eating dinner, and every other meal for that matter. Now my day also includes getting my workout in and attending to personal matters (bills, cooking, cleaning, other), but I am still on the go. At the end of the day, that 7 or 8 mark, I try to spend an hour or so with my wife. However, it is not uncommon, especially during peak periods, for me to lay on the couch after dinner and fall asleep, just to get some sleep in order to do it again. Right Grace? Now, do not take that as complaining. We all have things in our life. It is how we deal with them that matters. While I do get stressed out sometimes, I tend to organize my day well and have strong time management skills. Planning, notes, financial software, time tracking software, and web based applications make the process simpler. For example, I have used Microsoft Money since 2008 to manage personal, and now business, finances. I love what I do and do my best to manage my life in a productive and positive way.
