Some people watch too much TV and can really be idiots because of it. After a depressing day for me, Im walking up to the locked gate to the marina which has been my home port for over a decade and have lived onboard my boat full time for about 5 years. I rarely wear a hoodie and on the rare times I wear it the hood is down, just cause I really dont feel the cold all that much. But today its below freezing, everything is covered with ice and snow, and the hood is UP because ITS COLD OUT! So some old stuffy looking people Ive never seen before are walking out the gate and I say Hi! they glare at me and dont return my greeting. But the woman pauses with the gate open and I assume shes holding it for me since Im pushing a cart full of stuff. Then when I walk through she gets her high and mighty blue blood voice on and says I hope youre not here to steal a boat! I thought of a few fun things to do to her with my boot, but instead just looked her in the eye and said Yeah, and dont say anything to anyone until Ive had a chance to sail it out of the marina then turned my back and walked off. I guess its true, the news media has made hoodies the mark of a criminal just as much as if Id been carrying a machine gun in a violin case!
