Here is the gateway to the hall and part of the huge magnificent building .Scholars have placed the location of Thornfield from Charlotte Brontes book Jane Eyre far away from Thornton village, Charlottes birthplace .Writers,Television crews, and filmmakers alike do not see what Charlotte was writing about in plain sight .In the photographs on the roof you can see on Thornton Hall what a child or young woman with a vivid imagination could see as a Turret. Charlotte Bronte,her sisters and Brother were christened just across the wall from here at their Fathers church ~Thorn-field-Thorn-ton ~
