Some poetry written by me: How often do we ask why Why is there all this bloodshed When will it all end Or are we just too busy eating our pie How often do we ask why Why the loss of innocent lives Whilst we sit in our cosy homes Watching it with our very eyes How often do we ask why Are we programmed to switch off And ignore the reality Where is our humanity How often do we ask why Is our purpose to eat, drink and be merry What if the tables were turned How would we cry How often do we ask why Why is it just my house, my job, my family When will we look at things collectively And have concern for all of humanity What has happened to our hearts Do we not realise that its not the eyes that see Our judgement is clouded And were being torn apart Our attachment to material is all an illusion We need to awake before its too late The one with the most toys does not win It will all be left behind for someone elses amusement
