Some progress with the Theremin Articulation Pedal. :-) I now have a prototype to test the magnets on, from my 3D artists impression. Thanks to Rens, who was instrumental in making that happen. Turns out, the design I sent for printing had a huge great blunder - I updated the design to accommodate the magnets I was recommended, but only changed one of the two recesses for them in the pedal. Doh. I bought a dremmel some time ago on the off chance it would be useful eventually. It was. Problem sorted. Now Im gluing in the magnets with araldite, as recommended on the data sheet, with some trepidation. My experiences with glue to date suggest that either all glue is rubbish, or it hates me specifically and refuses to work for me. When I use No More Nails, I use nails as well. And tomorrow I venture to St Albans to obtain a metal rod of just the right size to make a pin for the hinge, now that I have the hole to measure. I need one the same diameter as the shaft on a dremmel bit, very slightly under 2.5mm - I drew 2.4mm holes, so thats as it should be. There was a shop that sold such things in small quantities in Croxley - a model aircraft shop - but they appear to be a dying trade. Then I get to find out if I like the feel of the pedal. Hopefully I will conclude that I like the magnetic spring, otherwise its rethink time. Then its on to stage 2 - working prototype 2 with electronics. Ill be handing over to an expert for that. Mike has offered to look it over, so Ive got a spec to write...
