Some suggested criteria when looking for spiritual help: Consult a respected and knowledgeable source-(Family, friend, community member or organization.) If looking for American Indian spiritual help, its ok to ask what tribe/nation they are from and if their tribally enrolled. (Almost every legitimate person is.) Consult with that tribe or members of that community to see if they are supported and have good recommendations Dont be afraid to do background checks of your own-(Google, CCAP-for criminal convictions, grapevine..etc) If money is their primary focus, usually its a big red flag-Dont pay to pray or be prayed for! its ok to give monetary gifts but shouldnt be a line item charge or negotiation. if something doesnt feel right about the person or your experience with them, take it was a warning sign, since it usually is.
