Some summer heat – Swallows’ Riff For those of you who are feeling winter’s chill, here’s a burst of summer energy from the forthcoming Midnight Sun album. Inspired by a photo taken back in summer 2013 when Dmitry and bass guitarist Viktor Mikheyev were staying in the seaside village of Byala, Bulgaria, the track Swallows’ Riff is buzzing with the vibrant energy of sea, sand and sun! The photo was taken one afternoon by Dmitry’s wife, Carol. When she showed it to Dmitry, he immediately saw music – the telegraph wires were a musical staff, the perching swallows crotchets and quavers. With the riff already darting round his head, Dmitry immediately pulled out the little KORG keyboard and some sheet music, and Swallows’ Riff was born. Guaranteed to warm/heat up even the gloomiest winter evening!
