Some thoughts about Ferguson, Mo. For a long time now I have talked about how our society has gone from what it was when I was a boy, teen and young man to what it is today. When I was young, everybody respected our teachers, the police, the military, our government and on and on. In fact, we respect all things. If a child was in trouble at school it was the childs fault never the teacher. It is now the teachers and never the childs. We have taught our children not to respect anyone not even themselves. Society today is paying the price for all of those years of deterioration. People dont respect themselves and they do not respect others or their property. They dont respect the police, government, teachers, or anybody. There is no way in this world that I would think about looting or burning things that didnt belong ot me but what you have is a society that has totally turned its back on all that is right. No, Im not saying everybody. When a few in the minority do things like what we saw in Ferguson then it looks bad for the whole country. You can not tell me that people filled with the love of Jesus are going to do things like what went on. Take God out of our lives and you become savages once again. It is going to get worse and worse until we destroy ourselves one way or the other. Ill get off my soap box now.
