Some thoughts about celebrating Christmas... Did you know that - TopicsExpress

Some thoughts about celebrating Christmas... Did you know that 92% of Americans - including more than 80% of non-Christians -- celebrate Christmas in some fashion? These figures are from a Pew Research Foundation survey conducted in 2013. Sadly the number of Americans who observe Christmas as a commemoration of Christs birth has declined, to a little over half, but the holiday itself is still central to our society. It is a remarkable holiday. Take a moment and reflect how so many people of different faiths or who practice no faith all, find meaning in it. In truth, we celebrate two holidays - the one that celebrates Gods greatest gift to mankind, and a secular festival. But they are linked, because the essence of Christmas is the promise and expression of hope, joy and love, We have hope for a better future (those of us who are Christians have hope for eternity). We find joy in our lives when we take the time to stop and look... and we all need love...and we are guaranteed Gods love... I hope your time together this Christmas was filled with that hope, joy and love.
