My Merry Christmas Commentary / Observations, a first for someone that is not much of a talker, but…history need to be studied more, not selected pieces, sound bites or the big “Gotcha”. Lets’ not forget, history at times repeats, BUT has sadly, too many times…… Tuskegee airman African American men who made history with their prowess in flight. Who served this country with honor and distinction, BUT subjected to racial discrimination, before and after WWII. washingtonpost/…/b1e013d0-4a23-11e3-ac54-aa8… Japanese internment camps, BUT there was also German and Italian internment camps, in the US at the same time. How many know that? Please raise your hands? Just as I figure not many hands went up. The 1936 Olympics Jesse Owens stepped up against the Nazis state-sponsored hatred and Adolf Hitler’s ideology of racial superiority, BUT, “His job options were limited by segregation…even though he came back an Olympic hero, he wasnt offered opportunities that Olympic heroes of today are offered…..but like many black men of that era, he struggled to provide for his family. The mass genocide approximately six million Jews, of systematic state-sponsored hatred for just “their beliefs”. And many others for various reasons, but still pure hatred bring the number up to 11-13 Million. BUT, Alan Turing, Enigma Code-Breaker and Computer Pioneer, Wins Royal Pardon, nytimes/…/alan-turing-enigma-code-breaker-an… I have heard said: “If Mother Teresa was alive now she will be saying this or that.” BUT I heard her share: Like Jesus we belong to the world living not for ourselves but for others. The joy of the Lord is our strength. There is only one God and He is God to all; therefore it is important that everyone is seen as equal before God. I’ve always said we should help a Hindu become a better Hindu, a Muslim become a better Muslim, a Catholic become a better Catholic. We believe our work should be our example to people. We have among us 475 souls - 30 families are Catholics and the rest are all Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs—all different religions. But they all come to our prayers. There are so many religions and each one has its different ways of following God. I follow Christ: Jesus is my God, Jesus is my Spouse, Jesus is my Life, Jesus is my only Love, Jesus is my All in All; Jesus is my Everything. I have heard said: “If Martin Luther King Jr was alive now he will be saying this or that.” BUT I heard him exclaim: “I have a dream that little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. ……. when we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of Gods children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, Free at last! Free at last! Thank God almighty, were free at last! I heard that Today Jesus was born, BUT: “Sometimes I would like to ask God why He allows poverty, suffering, and injustice when He could do something about it.
