Some thoughts for the conspiracy theorists/anti-medicine people out there… Please follow what’s going on with the Ebola outbreak in Africa right now. It is a very dangerous, contagious, high mortality disease that has resulted in several epidemics to date. Whenever it hits, not even the healthcare workers are safe. To date, doctors, nursing staff and even social workers in Liberia have died from contracting the disease from patients they were caring for. Over 1,000 people in Africa have died in the current outbreak. There have not been any effective treatments in the past. Currently, the two sick Americans who have been brought back to the states have been given an experimental drug and there is debate over whether it should be provided to other sick people. Just pointing this out while it’s happening because I’m sure once an effective treatment is found, people will develop amnesia for how devastating it is and claim it’s not that big of a deal at all… like some of the epidemics, pandemics, deadly illnesses of the past that there is effective treatment for now.
