Some thoughts in retrospect: My youth was a very impressionable time of my life. If someone I respected told me something, then it was fact or truth to me. Who was I to argue? Oh, I put up a fuss sometimes, but only to acquiesce to what I knew had to be right by them. Much of that Ive found was a wise thing to do...to listen, to absorb, after all, I was a young sponge, hungering to do the right thing. Ive been listening to some gospel music from the early 1970s, from when I was a new disciple of the Lord Jesus, or so I thought. I traveled, sang with various choirs, traveled with well known preachers and was a progeny, of sorts. Nothing seemed impossible within the bubble of a loving God and its exclusive family. I spent years in prayer, in working with people, in being tutored by religiously educated, good people...and I am forever grateful for the family unit they provided me, and the training and honing of my music talent, the spreading of my wings musically, which is still the core of so much joy in my life. That may sound silly coming from me now, but if you had known me then, I completely believed it...hook, line, and sinker, and would bet my life and eternity on it. But it taught me many things of life, and the beauties it bestows upon us. I know that we are a compilation of our history...our experiences, both good and bad, and the way we processed them, making us who we are today. Dont throw away the good, but let those memories be a blessing for you now, today, and in the midst of continued good times...and bad.
