Some thoughts on Man of Steel: gorgeous FX shots, as expected from Zack Snyder, marred by too much lens flare and nauseatingly excessive shaky-cam. Beautifully well shot, with an appropriate brutality. Great art direction, with lovely Giger-esque Kryptonian tech. General Zod was a compelling villain, but Russell Crowe kinda dropped the ball. In general, the writing was stronger than the acting, which kinda failed to convey any actual emotion. Not a great movie if you like thinking, but an aesthetic success and plenty fun to watch.
