Some thoughts on the use of technique versus conversations: Quite a few People seem to think that using techniques With someone equates With an outside - in understanding and that the conversations 3p folks have are somehow pure and innocently lead People towards an inside- out understanding of the nature of thought and experience. I think this is a misunderstanding...If you have a conversation With someone where you have the intent of Learning, and Your teacher tells stories to help you see certain Things ( in this case the Three principles ), then it seems bisarre to pretend that Your Insights were GENERATED exclusively inside -out. Of course , its accurate to say that a 100 percent of Your experience of Insight happens in consciousness, but it seems to be a big mistake to then say that the Insight was GENERATED exclusively from the inside out, as if what the other person said...how they told their stories etc didnt have much to do With what ended up as Insight in Your mind. After all, pretty much everyone who have discovered Insights have discovered them WHILE in an INTERACTION With someone who is telling stories designed to lead you towards having certain Insights....seems more accurate to say that much of the intelligence is in the RELATIONSHIP....to say that its exclusively inside out is a bit like the hypnotherapists who tell stories and then claim that all hypnosis is self hypnosis as if the context, relationship , social roles and what they said and how they said it had NOTHING to do With whatever emerged in the Clients mind....
