Some thoughts & takeaways from this weekend: The story of the prodigal son in Luke 15 is not so much about the prodigal as it is about the Fathers love. Instead of asking others What do you do? Ask Who are you? & Whose are you? Little girls naturally desire to be a future wife & mommy but when was the last time you heard a young boy ever say that his dream was to grow up and be a husband and daddy? What are we teaching our boys? Your identity is not in what you do but who you are and whose you are. We learn in the struggle. You are two generations from being obsolete. What legacy are you leaving? Speak consistently and live by the truth. Love is not conditional. Enjoy every aspect of parenting. Dont rush the stages. Today is the youngest your children will ever be. If The Lord woke you up today you have one more chance to fulfill His will. How do you know if someone needs encouragement? If theyre breathing. Dont accept interferences. Two things you cant get back: time & words. Satan desires to take fatherhood away from dads and desires to control our children. Love God, love your wife and show the way. These items are just thoughts I wanted to share. None of this possible on a long term basis outside of a relationship with Jesus Christ. If any of this is speaking to you, Im happy to to sit down with you and walk through the journey together. -Greg
