Some time ago, I had my hearing with the tax board in Los Angeles and was told that since I live in Arizona, I would get a refund for the tax and business license that I paid when when I was threatened with legal action and possibly criminal counts. When I opened the envelope today, imagine my surprise to find, not a refund of my overpayment, as was promised during my hearing, but a 2014 business tax license for the City of Los Angeles. I have to start ALL OVER with them. It is not just the business license. It is paying a percentage of all of my income to the city of Los Angeles when I do not even live there.I cannot believe it. Once you live in L.A., even if you leave, they will never, ever let you not pay city income tax again! I guess I need an attorney from Los Angeles to straighten it out. Know any? They asked me if I had any business dealings with anyone in the city and the answer is NO. I dont know what they are doing over there and why they are not honoring the findings of my hearing that I DO NOT LIVE THERE.
