Some tips on the path of Quran memorization (Hifzhul Quran) EVEN IF ITS ONE VERSE PER WEEK.. JUST DO IT!! START SOMETHING!!! 1** Purify your intentions and make duaa.. 2** Start easy.. go easy and be consistent.. Draw out a personal, realistic plan thats comfortable for you. How many verses per day, week etc can you do? Whats the frequency of repetition? Etc... No rush. Else you may loose steam eventually *Rasul sallallaahu_alaihi_wasallam said: “The most beloved deed to Allah’s is the most regular and constant even though it were little.“ [Bukhari 8:471] So u can start with a few verses per day/ week 3** First: be personally motivated for Allah‘s sake..with or without others!! *best move..Getting a sheikh to help check it up for you at particular days will be v.helpful in_shaa_Allah *alternatively, a pious partner with similar intentions will also be very good to go with in_shaa_Allah! 4** Draw out a plan to Mark yourself at scheduled intervals, weekly, monthly, etc.. then maintain your pace or step up your game accordingly 4b* Soon, you wud hav done a lot in_shaa_Allah .. be Patient and Consistent! 5** Time for hifz... Some shuyuukh suggest after fajr and/ or after magrib. Wallaahu a‘lam *Choose a realistic time most suitable for you &fits in your daily schedule ..remember: consistency is key!! 6** The essence of al Quran is tadabbur! So as you try to memorize, try to also understand, reflect on it and apply in_shaa_Allah Allah says.. ﻛِﺘَﺎﺏٌ ﺃَﻧْﺰَﻟْﻨَﺎﻩُ ﺇِﻟَﻴْﻚَ ﻣُﺒَﺎﺭَﻙٌ ﻟِﻴَﺪَّﺑَّﺮُﻭﺍ ﺁﻳَﺎﺗِﻪِ ﻭَﻟِﻴَﺘَﺬَﻛَّﺮَ ﺃُﻭﻟُﻮ ﺍﻷَْﻟْﺒَﺎﺏِ [This is] a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded. Q38: 29 7** Lastly, always try to encourage others, (family n friends) towards memorization of Allah‘s book and that helps to maintain your own zeal to continue, aside the ujuur that comes with calling to khair.. remember ... The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu_alaihi_wasallam) said, He who calls others to follow the Right Guidance will have a reward equal to the reward of those who follow him, without their reward being diminished in any respect on that account.[Muslim]. *And always renew your intentions! Whenever you loose steam and get slow, dont worry, get up, do a honest re-assessment and move on up..with renewed vigor till you get the ultimate in_shaa_Allah .. ** These are the few tips that come to mind now. Alhamdulillaah! Allah knows best! May Allah purify our intentions and help us memorize His book with understanding and honest application ..and be pleased with us till Jannah..
