Some tweets from this morning: Violence cannot be overcome with more violence. It may appear to gain the victory, but the triumph is illusory or temporary at best. If God couldve been satisfied with a superficial and impermanent victory over evil, He wouldve used violence/force. Possessing the resources of omnipotence as He does, violence would always end with God as victor. But He knows winning that way is losing. Virtually all action/adventure movies are built on the premise of redemptive violence, but this premise is a real-world myth. The God of Scripture isnt just a bigger badder version of Superman or Spider-Man and their ilk. He is a true Hero, but not a superhero.
