Some unsolicited advice for my friends in St. Louis. First, - TopicsExpress

Some unsolicited advice for my friends in St. Louis. First, nobody panic when the no bill comes back. Panic is never a good thing and it never makes things better. Keep your head. If youre not in North County or the city, you will probably be safe. Riots dont travel well. Of course it would be irresponsible to ignore all the activity and threats on Twitter about taking the riots into mostly white areas....but I just dont think there will large scale attacks in St. Charles County and St. Louis County. Logistics are tough for the miscreants, and police can monitor the choke points entering those areas. Try to get home when the shit hits the fan. Businesses are far more likely to be targeted than residential areas. Judging by the threats Im seeing on Twitter, there will be violence targeted towards white people...but for the most part, looters are after the easiest way to get items of value. It makes much more sense for them to go after stores whose employees will run than a scared and possibly armed homeowner. Recognize that it might not be safe for a few days to move about freely in North County. If you live there, have some supplies on hand. Make certain to have needed medications, food, water and household supplies on hand. Better safe than sorry. But most of all, pray that this shit doesnt go down and that this is a whole lot of smoke with very little fire. There is a good chance that this will not be as bad as we think it will be. Remember, the media gets clicks and ad revenue by posting the most provocative and scary stories, images, rumors, Tweets, etc. Like when a snowstorm approaches and the weather people go crazy...its usually not as bad as they say it will be. Stay safe Bones
