Some very crazy days at WAAF right now... various training workshops, meetings, internal meetings, report writing, proposal writing and the clinic .... it is a crazy house... but thank God, all is going okay.. clinic today.. not all that busy but some very needy clients... a newly diagnosed HIV pregnant woman so lots of counseling needed .... especially on the issue of disclosure. she has not yet disclosed, ... states she tested negative 3 years ago when expecting her first child and now with her second pregnancy she has tested positive.. she is still with the same partner but has not disclosed and says she is not sure he will come and test... nevertheless, i asked her to try and see and if not, to try and bring him in with her ... then we will see what to do. then a gentleman who is also struggling with the issue of disclosure... has known his status for some years now and is about to marry but cannot gather the courage to tell the wife to be... this is truly a struggle... also for me.. i have been dealing with him for some time and still not been able to convince him to have me help disclose so today another long counseling session but still at square one... meanwhile the wedding date is drawing near...... what can we do?.... we have to keep advising... then another discordant couple: woman positive, man negative but they are both doing well... woman just completed first 2 weeks of her ARV.... thankfully no major side effects and she is beginning to believe that there is indeed hope... husband remains very supportive but still has loads of questions... i take my time to answer all.... then run in to WAAF to see to other things.. we will see how tomorrow goes..
