Some young lady will be turning 14 in 2 days......she is the most beautiful young lady I know. She was a beautiful baby, a gorgeous little girl too! She tried to defy her naturally thick, blonde, curly hair, to no avail. :) It has been almost every color of the rainbow the past few years, but this reflects her colorful personality, which brings much joy (and sometimes challenges, LOL) to our humble home! She definitely lights up our life! She is naturally gifted with an ear for music, being self-taught on the piano and the guitar. She has a lovely singing voice (which her sister and I DO both admire and admittedly envy)! She is equally gifted with her hand at drawing! Her talent is extraordinary, and I cannot wait to see where God takes her. She is painfully shy, yet has an enthusiasm for laughter, fun and life. Calista means beautiful, and this she is, in MANY, MANY ways. She has a deep understanding and love of God and Jesus, she has compassion and a simple, innocent, all-encompassing love for everyone and everything! She simply cannot understand evil, the need for sadness, sickness or cruelty in the world. She STILL goes by the understanding in her heart that EVERYONE, EVERYTHING, EVERYWHERE should be equal and fair and the same, across the board....ahh, if it were that simple! I love my Cali forever and always, to eternity! She embodies all that is good! So, in just 2 short days, MY BABY, my Calista Meghan will turn a big, huge 14!!! Where have all the years gone??? I certainly do not know, for they have been fleeting to me. But when I look into her deep baby blue eyes, I see the culmination of years of love, faith, bonding, and FAMILY that will NEVER, EVER leave my heart.
