Somebody called me mama bird in reference to being Jays mother. When I read it, I liked it. Nobody has ever called me that before. This day 50 years ago my Jay arrived a month early. He was due Jan. 26. It was the day before New Years Eve and I had a doctors appt. During the exam my water broke. Talk about Gods timing. I was at Garrison General Hospital on the first floor at Dr. Blairs office, We went upstairs to the second floor where the hospital was. Jay was born that Monday (as were all my children born on Monday). He was so tiny. Only weighed 4lbs. 9oz. He had to stay til he weighed 5lbs. for me to bring him home. He was a rascal the entire pregnancy and continued to be a rascal for most of his growing up years. All who remember Jay know what Im talking about. Jay was Jonis real baby for Christmas. She took him and put him in her doll cradle where he slept while he was so little. We kept the cradle right by the bed. Jay was Jonis ... it was such a blessing to see her carry him around and fuss over him like a little mama. Uh, she still does every chance she gets. My rascal, Jaybird (James Bryant Rayfield, Jr.) has become a wonderful man of God filled with the Holy Ghost. Hes a terrific husband, father, son, brother, friend, trucker, and can give a word at any chapel along the way. I am so proud of my son and send him blessings of favor with God and man ... Psalm 15 describes my Jay very well. Its the word the Lord gave me for him. I love my Jay. HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY TO THE BEST SON EVER. I LOVE YOU MORE THAN THERE ARE STARS IN THE SKY, LEAVES ON TREES, AND GRAINS OF SAND.
