Somebody called my work today and said our electric bill was two months behind and there was a disconnect notice that was imminent if I didnt pay the $400 back due in the next couple of hours. I know EWEB does have a reputation for doing these kinds of things and the thought of having my electricity turned off at work had me pretty \upset. Turns out it was a TOTAL scam ....I completely bought into this even though I had all the paperwork in front of me that said otherwise. Called EWEB, Called the police, called the dept of justice. No one could have cared less since I didnt , in fact, get taken. Wouldnt you be concerned if someone was using your business to scam people? Shame on you Eugene Water and Electric Board Well in all fairness, the DOJ is sending me a form to fill out and told me to call the paper. This kind of indifference is how these people get away with this. They were good and slick and sophisticated and in a zillion years I never would have thought it was a scam. I just got lucky and ran into someone who said, the same thing happened to so and so today and that made me suspect.
