But they try their best, and they get lots of input from -- oh, Kochs, oil & gas, etc. -- because money is so much more important that safe or improved engineering. If there are health problems, environment problems, the people can have those... Through the EPA Science Advisory Board Reform Act, the committees majority is trying to alter the way the EPA selects and uses its internal Science Advisory Boards, which are meant to provide independent review of the science conducted by the agency. One of the bills main consequences, a committee Democrat concluded, would be to ensure an overrepresentation of industry voices on the panels.
