Somehow I became infected while traveling with a 48 hour bug that has laid me low. Neither time nor tide wait before man. I returned home to a lovely, abundant garden. I dressed for 10 minutes, harvested the crops, mulched the turned under bean patch with two huge bags of steaming grass clippings, and fled back into the house. I did not eat for 2 days and sworn loyalty to whole grains. This basket of tomatoes and the colandar besides it on the table makes 6 quarts of canned tomatoes. I simmer the tomatoes first, full of chives, parsely, rosemary, thyme, a couple chopped hot peppers, and will can it all. Tomorrow. Tonight is for rest.
