Somehow, how a person feels has become more important than common - TopicsExpress

Somehow, how a person feels has become more important than common sense and critical thinking. Yes, emotions are important in shaping our thoughts, but not at the expense of rational thought and reason. One must only read the The United States Constitution to recognize the value of reason over emotion. For instance, the Bill of Rights affords us religious liberty. Given half a chance any one religion, for instance Roman Catholicism, left in charge of establishing a free state would have forced the rest of the people to believe the way they do based on their feelings that the Roman Catholic church is the only valid religion. There are over 1200 religions worldwide and Im quite sure they all believe theirs is the right one. Well, they all cant be right, therefore intellect dictates that freedom of choice and more importantly individual freedom supersedes emotional fervor and group think. America is exceptional, not the people of America, but the idea on which she was founded. May God Bless her for she is in very troubled times.
