Someone I used to know... sat at home alone thinking of a great mate Charlie who passed away at the age of 38 I tried to help him along the right road but he did not wish to do the journey with me. When I completed my service with the military and returned to the very strange civilian life it was hard to cope with at first, so me and my mate Charlie had a great blast together drinking joking after one month I knew it was time for me to find work I was lucky I got a job offer with a company called D.S.L. to work as a contractor in Bosnia which then became my home for the next seven years. Every six months we got a short break back home for me in a way it was sad as I would meet up with Charlie and I could see he was on the road to nowhere,I am no Angel I also enjoy a few beers one day whilst I was back in Bosnia we got tasked to work in Hungary for a month. On our return back to Sarajevo my Boss a military Officer from Norway said sit down mate, some sad news your mate Charlie was buried two weeks ago back in Hartlepool. I know Charlie will read this and say don;t worry Michael I knew what I was doing and I enjoyed every minute of my life. Cheers Charlie my former Army mate and also my great friend... Footnote. Charlie was one of the many great men and soldiers from Scotland like George and Kenny... When Charlie left the service he moved into my home town Hartlepool ....
