If you receive a text or an email asking about anything in particular like “How are you?”, “How did it go?”, “What time?”, “Are you home?”, Wheres the cat?, etc. and you take the time to respond, wouldn’t you expect for the other person to write back even if it’s an “OK”? I mean, I’m not asking for back and forth conversations till the crack of dawn but, acknowledging the other person is an essential part of COMMUNICATING. This baffles me greatly; makes me not want to answer from the get go and avoid the confusion altogether.
