Someone asked how to stop a dog from jumping up on people. Heres what you do: If the dog jumps up, turn your body away. The best thing to do next (though is not necessary) is to get the dog to sit before proceeding to give him attention. If the dog stands up while hes being petted, stop petting, and tell him to sit. Petting is a form of reward, and you dont want to reward for a behavior you dont want. Many times, the dog will figure out that the raised hands means no petting and will then sit back down again. Now obviously I created the scenario of Tonka jumping on me ;)
