Someone asked me what happens to the Power Battery if Lydea Mallor - TopicsExpress

Someone asked me what happens to the Power Battery if Lydea Mallor steals the ring from it. Heres the powers Im talking about: BATTERY: Force Construction - The Power Battery must be assigned a Power Ring (ring symbol) and 1-6 distinct Constructs (construct symbol). The Power Battery costs 2 points, plus the combined cost of the assigned Power Ring and Constructs, and must total a minimum of 16 points. The Power Ring and Constructs are all attached to the Power Battery at the beginning of the game. LYDEA MALLOR (and other SLoSH chases): THE GROWING DARKNESS: At the beginning of the game for all friendly characters with this trait, you may remove one attached game element from an opponents resource and, if it is a relic, assign it to a character with this trait. At the beginning of your turn, roll 2d6 for all friendly characters with this trait. If the result is lower than the sum total of all of these characters click numbers, then modify all opposing characters combat values by -1 until your next turn Per Wizkids rulings: Initiative There are many mechanics which require player(s) to select things at the beginning of the game. The initial roll-off between players to determine who goes first is used to determine which player performs all of their “start of game” decisions first. Per the Players Guide entry, the player who will be going first must resolve all beginning of game effects before the subsequent players. If the player using a character with THE GROWING DARKNESS Trait wants to remove an item from an opposing players Power Battery and won the initiative roll, they would need to choose to go second. If they go first, then the second player would not have yet assigned the rings and constructs to their Power Battery for the first player to remove. Ok, so if you want Lydea to steal a ring from a battery, you MUST be the 2nd player (or any player after the Battery player in a multi-player game). But what happens if you steal the ring? Per Wizkids: You ONLY need the ring attached to the battery during setup, so stealing the ring from the battery does NOT fully negate the battery. HOWEVER, no characters will get the ring benefits once it has been removed. Also, you wont be able to use any battery powers that are dependent on the ring (the EMOTIONAL SPECTRUM powers, for example). You will still be able to assign constructs to characters and do other things with the batteries. Hope this makes sense.
