Someone brought up a great question about why this wasnt able to just go through council in a civil manner .. So Heres my thoughts (the thoughts of a registered nurse aka. Lay person) The current ordinances regarding chickens vs poultry and coop vs poultry houses was actually voted in 1973 I believe. The recent issue with city council is that they are lay people. Every day folks like you and me... trying to inerpret a law written by attorneys. So, in most things you take it first to the council. But if there are questions about the law you take it to an attorney and if council wants to fight, you take it to court. Which is what we did. The legal process at work. SO, Now they are trying to fight us on our fence that contains the chickens. SINCE the ordinance says you can have a coop and chickens. .. council is fighting the right to fence them. The ordinance demandes they be contained... SO now they want us to put our fence through zoning and historical review ran by the man fighting is from the beginning. . ..THEIR thought, no fence no chickens (cant contain them) ... whatever. ... Im wondering if chickens respond to radio fences. ... God bless and have a great evening.
