Someone close to me wrote me something AWESOME to help me deal with a situation I am going through. Being taken advantage of is challenging to overcome. To be fooled by false humility To have your efforts devalued once the storm has passed. There isnt a price for generosity or kindness. There isnt a formula for gratitude and appreciation. The hope is for integrity from those who need your help both during and after you have selflessly set aside part of yourself for someone else. You hope that someone would not accept your kindness and generosity with a greedy heart. The challenge, however is to remain generous and kind towards others when this occurs. To avoid hardening your heart. To disregard thoughts of vengeance or malice. To continue to be giving and helpful without fear of the next person having the same level of selfish intentions.
