Someone gouged one of my cake pans and now my cakes stick... found out while making a 6 layer reduced sugar chocolate cake for my friends 85th birthday, and am down to 5 layers! (Figured out the issue after the third layer stuck also, but we used more shortening so were able to salvage the layer.) All is not lost though, we have cake chunks for dessert for us tonight :) So do I now make a 7 layer cake or a 5 layer cake... looking at the size of my layers I am thinking 5 will be tall enough! Got last 2 layers in the oven now... hopefully they will come out clean enough that I wont have to make more cake LOL
