Someone once said; its not that Im afraid to die but I dont just want to bet here when it happens. This is probable how many of us here today feel. But the fact remains death is as much a part of life as life itself. Every family faces death at one time or another. Death reminds us how tender and fragile life can be. When death strikes in a family it sometimes brings confusion as lot questions are asked WHY? After God had created the heaven and earth he said to Adam in Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil u shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die. I want to suggest that Adam didnt understand what God was saying as he had not broken an law. Remember death came in after the introduction of sin by Satan. We find Eve eating of the forbidden tree and death came in. After Cain had killed Abel thats where Adam understood what was meant by death. Ecclesiastes 3 tells us that theres time for everything, a time to be born and a time to die. Eccl 9:5 says the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing. John tells us in Revelation chapter 20:12 that he saw the dead. Friends death is something we have seen happening, we have witnessed our beloved dying and we have witnessed some burials taking place. When death strikes it doesnt give a warning or indication, it comes un expectedly take the one whose days has come to an end. It doesnt consider yo marital status, riches or educational qualification. Let me give u an assurance of a better life after death, only if u die leaning on the arms of Jesus, on that glorious morning u shall resurrect from yo grave and shout as written in 1Cor15:55 O death where is your sting? O grave where is yo victory? Happy as he was John again writes in Rev 14:13 that blessed are the dead who died in the Lord. My friends this morning ukufa kungabe kusizuma, kuthatha abathandwa bethu, akukhathalekile ukuthi kumthathe njani omunye wakho, is it thru sickness, shot or car accident? Is it thru food poisoning or whatever way, luyeza usuku olukhulu lapho sobabona abanye bethu sebekunqobile ukufa. Ngoba befe beqamele esandleni esinamandla. Ngithanda ukukhulumisa noyedwa this morning who says God Ive realized ukuthi Im not safe when I walk alone, Im not safe Lord if I die without having u as my friend, therefore my Lord write my name in that book of life and purify me to be ready for your second coming. If ekhona who says so, Im saying may the good Lord bless and protect u, isiphithiphithini somhlaba okanje, keep him/her safe Lord. If we happen to be victims of death may we die leaning on your hands. Keep us safe dear Father. Amen. JK
