Someone out there is training. Law Enforcement Maxim There are many days when you will not feel like training. The opportunities to do something else in place of your training are endless. It’s all too easy to think to yourself, “I just don’t feel like it today,” or “It won’t hurt to take today off.” The problem is that one day turns into one week, and one week turns into one month, and one month turns into two, etc. We are creatures of habit. Once you start getting into the habit of not training, it is easy to continue on that path. You have to find ways to continue to keep yourself motivated. One way to stay motivated is to contemplate the fact that somewhere out there, somebody else is training, and training hard and seriously. This guy is not taking the day, week, month, or summer off. He is honing his martial arts skills to perfection. He is pumping weights and his strength and muscle mass are increasing weekly. He’s not training his character though, but that’s okay; he doesn’t need character to achieve his goals. You see, he is not training to be a warrior; he is training to perfect his skills as a predator. If he continues to train hard, while at the same time you continue to take time off and take your training a bit less serious, the gap between his skills and your skills will widen. This is a dangerous situation for the warrior to be in because in the event that your paths cross, and your duty requires you to confront this guy, you will lose.
