Someone recently criticized the GOP (John Stuart Milligan I believe) because one or two candidates attacked Democratic opponents for Social Security reform/cuts. As if on cue, the DNC has made this the center-piece of the party platform and they are attacking any Repub thats talked about any Social Security reform, including raising the retirement age, slowly delaying benefits or COLA rate adjustments or removing the cap. This is the sort of thing that makes real progress nearly impossible. Unfortunately the American public is uninformed enough to fall for so much of this stupid rhetoric from both sides. Its how Obama was elected. Too bad. I suppose we get who we (collectively) deserve.
