Someone shared a brutal example of physical domestic violence - TopicsExpress

Someone shared a brutal example of physical domestic violence today. I just read this article and it really touched me. (theguardian/society/2009/nov/27/patrick-stewart-domestic-violence). The take away message of these posts on fb today, for me at least, is that people have to remember that there are many forms of domestic violence and just because your partner does not hit you does not mean that what he is saying or doing doesnt qualify as abuse. If you question your worthiness- theres some level of abuse going on. If youre told that you are always to blame for something going wrong or are criticized relentlessly about how you dress/eat/cook/keep house/raise the children/etc and cant seem to do anything right- theres some level of abuse going on. A partner that is unfaithful with his or her emotions, money and body is surely engaging in abusing you, your trust, your love. If you find yourself in a situation where you are making decisions to stay with someone out of fear (fear of poverty, rejection, loss of love, community backlash, family backlash, whatever it may be- there is definitely some co-dependence and some level of abuse there. I am encouraging you right now, right here to live your life out of love. Fear should not be a day to day emotion any of us experience. Namaste, friends. Protect yourselves and your families- mind, body and spirit.
