Someones busting out today!! And she looks happy! 😊💖 Busy, fun morning for her, though before we left! Music therapy, visual stimulation and dress up time! So, heres the deal: she did not have pneumonia after all, though it sounded and looked like it could be on the x-ray. She had Atelectasis which is a collapse of her lung from most likely a mucus plug. On Sunday, the x-ray showed that the lung had reopened. However, this mornings x-ray showed that it happened again. 😔 The treatment is just CPT therapy which anyone can do. So, we had the option of staying in the hospital longer or going home. Both the cardiologist and the ICU doctor felt that we could continue her CPT treatment and suctioning at home but left the decision up to us. Ultimately we decided that it would be safest to bring her home and continue her treatment. There is always a possibility of catching something new in a hospital so we didnt want to compound the issue. So, home we go...with continuous 02 until our SATs get better which will once she clears up more; CPT treatments every 4-6 hours; and suctioning as needed to clear what becomes loosened from treatment. Cant wait to get back into our routine again!
