Something I had intended to write last night, but was ill-prepared to do so when I got home. I love you Words I often hear from family. Often heard by friends, as an exclamation of exaltation for the moment or an affirmation of mutual respect over something said and done. I cant remember the last time Ive heard it from a friend in the way it was shared with me last night. A (presumably) platonic gesture said with complete sincerity. The genuine, heartfelt article. Said with calm and peace and warmth. It was the highlight of my night last night. It had completely taken me by surprise. Its a phrase that Ive often felt and held back, because even among friends it seems silly, loaded with unintended meaning and expectations. Maybe I wont hold back next time. Thanks for that. You know who you are.
