Something akin to this happened near where I grew up, Saratoga, CA, but for all I can tell no one got it on camera. However, the Saratoga News (local newspaper) wrote about it as a positive action on the part of the police, benefiting the community. Affluent executives and independently wealthy like those in have got to stop assuming that because someone does not have a permanent, legal home, they are likely to be dangerous, violent druggies. They are simply people with less good fortune than yourself, and if their presence in tents bothers you, volunteer your time or money to help figure out how to solve the problems that force them to live in tents. Solve those, and theyll be gone. But the inconvenience/fear they cause you is nothing compared to the inconvenience and fear involved in living on the street, and as a civil society we must not elevate in importance the minor discomfort of the wealthy above the extreme discomfort of the poor.
